The site of this affordable housing project is currently used as a garbage truck washing lot. Converting the use of this site to residential will not only improve the existing site, but it will also benefit the surrounding area of this East Los Angeles neighborhood. The project design consists of two differing building masses that are used to break up the elevation facing onto Whittier Blvd. The void left between the two masses enables light and circulation to enter into the building courtyard.
