Occupying the entire block on Washington Blvd. from Gramercy to Wilton, the challenge was the design of the 346' long elevation. The West half of the project is only 3 stories high while the East half is 5 stories high. The two parts of the building do not meet, leaving a void to provide light and ventilation to the courtyard. The vertical windows shift horizontally from floor to floor, while the corner balconies are focused in different directions for increased privacy.
