Glendale Gardens is located one block north of Glenoaks Boulevard, a major commercial corridor. The project’s layout is derived from a traditional bungalow court apartment complex, historically a predominate style in the area. This layout allows for the apartments to focus around a large enclosed green space. The building mass breaks down on the top floor and along the perimeter of the project, allowing the project to seamlessly blend into the existing mix of single family homes and apartment buildings. The project site includes an unusually narrow site to the west, which is not conducive to apartments, but offers an amenity for the greater community in the form of a community garden / pocket park.
